Horror Month Returns with the Deeply Unsettling 'Hereditary'

The trailer for 2018’s Hereditary implied a traditional batch of jump scares, creepy kids, and the general sort of haunting we’ve come to expect from modern horror. It’s a great feint, the first of many, because the movie itself ends up being quite slow, deliberate, and just plain wild.
